I know it's a bad idea to pop them when they first come up b/c they might leave a mark. But how about after several days pass...is it best to squeese them or just let them dry out and heal all by themselves?
Sometimes I wanna pop them so bad, there's this BIG one on my chin and its super ugly!!Is it bad to pop my zits?
Dont use ur fingers.
Get a CLEAN needle, and poke it. Get a napkin squeezing gently.
Then put toothpaste on.
Do not touch ur face!!Is it bad to pop my zits?
It is bad to pop zits at any stage.
The squeezing you apply not only causes you pain and bruising, but also pushes the puss into surrounding tissue. This in turn will create not only more infection/pimples but possible scaring.
Though the damage done may not show immediately it will be plainly visible later on in life.
There are a lot of products on the market these days that help with pimples not only in making them go away but also stopping them from showing up.
Zits occur for many reasons, diet high in fat, hormonal development, stress, poor hygiene and cleansing, lack of appropriate amount of sleep, sweat....the list goes on.
It takes time, commitment and patience to find out what things are triggering yours.
Most commonly it is considered to happen due to blocked pores, which is caused by and overactive sebaceous gland. This is located at the bottom of the hair follicle.
Talk to your parent(s)/guardian so that they can help you try out these products or ask to see a doctor who will be able to teach you how to manage your skin and outbreaks.
If you have severe acne then it would be very beneficial if you can convince your parent(s)/guardian that you need to see a dermatologist before too much scaring occurs.
Good luck
Oh God i just had the same conversation with my cousin whos like 26 .. shes had BAD skin all her life all owing to her popping her zits..she had acne aswell but if it werent for the popping she wouldnt have all these marks over face..I use to when i was 14..but Ive stopped now (im almost 17) and trust me i get some NASTY zits..just let them be and they dry up and come off..that way it leaves no mark..Im telling you it will ruin your skin..
Also try CLinque 3 step..it worked on my skin!
well i dont no about other people but i pop my pimples all the time i rather pop them then leave a big bump on my face with puss and white stuff in it Eww i dont think theres anything wrong with popping them because even when i dont pop them it still leave a Mark
You get zits because there is bacteria under your skin, Opening a pore in your face by popping a zit just allows more bacteria in. If you have one with a huge head on it, wash your hands and go ahead and pop it. Leave the rest alone.
You can shrink it!
Get a q-tip, and run it through some really warm/hott water. Then place it on the zit, and the gunk will eventually rise up to the surface. I do it all the time, and it leaves no marks or scars!(:
You should never pop an acne lesion if it does not have a white head to it, that covers most of the red. This is because a pimple is an infection, if it's just red, there's actually nothing in it yet, and the infection is so deep in the pore (the pores on your face are not actually pores, but follicles, pores are so small you can't see them) that you cannot get it out by squeezing, and you will only drive it deeper, and irritate the area. The white head the appears on a pimple is a mixture of dead white blood cells, bacteria, sebum (oil), and skin cells, this is usually a sign that the lesion is healing and removing the waste will sometimes allow it to heal faster if done right.
The reason pimples are associated with oily skin, is because the bacteria that causes acne is harmless when exposed to oxygen, and lives on everybody's skin but when the skin produces a lot of oil, sometimes a mixture of dead skin cells and sebum (oil) will clog a follicle, thereby preventing the exposure to oxygen, and creating a breeding ground for the anaerobic (meaning something that lives without oxygen) infectious form of the bacteria.
So opening up the clogged follicle after the formation of a white head can help the healing process.
However, you increase the risk of scaring if it's done improperly.
The correct procedure is to expose the area to wet heat for a period of about ten minutes (a hot shower will do, as will standing over a pot of hot water, or pressing hot wash cloths to the area)
Then you should pat the area dry with a towel. You should sanitize your hands, and use the finest sterile needle you can get (professionals use disposable lancets, but I don't think they're available to the general public, a very fine sewing needle might do if you boiled it first)
Then using a magnifying mirror you should attempt to poke the very tip of the needle into the entrance of the follicle (you will feel no resistance and should not feel pain if you get it in the right spot, it sometimes takes a little trial and error, don't poke hard and don't continue if you feel resistance)
Once you have the tip of the needle in the follicle wiggle it slightly in all directions to open up the follicle. Then, using the sides of the pads of your pointer fingers, you should apply gentle pressure from slightly beneath the zit on each side, pressing inwards and upwards, as if to ';lift'; the clog out. You should start to see white or yellow goo or clear oil coming out of the skin, after you've gotten everything out there will be a little blood. After that wipe away the goo, wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap and apply witch hazel and possibly a gentle soothing clay mask (Pevonia sensitive mask or queen helene Apricot mask work well for this)
To avoid getting zits, you should drink plenty of water, and make sure to exfoliate once a week with a gentle scrub that's labeled ';exfoliating beads'; as most scrubs contain sharp edged particles that damage the skin and make acne worse, as well as causing micro-tearing that causes premature aging.
You should also wash your face every night with a gentle foaming cleanser (I like Skyn iceland, but that's a bit pricey, try neutrogena for something cheaper)
Use an alcohol free toner formulated for oily or sensitive skin.
and then use a light oil free moisturizer (I personally think aloe vera gel works very well for this, and it's soothing and healing properties are very beneficial to an acne prone skin)
